MEET ELVIN HE, a business consultant and recreational runner, who’s been consistently coming to Tone House for about 3 months. During that time he has run 2 marathons and also will be running the TCS New York City Marathon and Philly Marathon this November. Not only has he crushed it on the Turf but he’s also shaved significant time off his races in just a few months.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN COMING TO TONE HOUSE?
I came once or twice back during the original 17th street location but didn’t start coming religiously until about 3 months ago. Just hit my 30th class!

Coach Christi! She’s motivational as hell and also equally good at keeping you on your toes.
WHAT RACE DID YOU PARTICIPATE IN?
I just recently did the Berlin Marathon at the end of September and the Chicago Marathon on October 8th. I have the TCS New York City Marathon on November 5th and the Philadelphia Marathon on November 19th.
HOW DID TONE HOUSE HELP YOU ACHIEVE YOUR RACE GOALS?
Those conditioning classes unlocked another level of endurance that I didn’t expect. After taking two conditioning classes in July, I dropped 20 minutes off my third marathon in San Francisco. Since then, I’ve dropped another 16 minutes off my time and believe that with another few months of running and classes, I may finally hit the Boston Qualifier.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT TONE HOUSE THAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER GYMS/WORKOUTS?
I love the team atmosphere. There’s nothing quite like the team spirit that keeps you going, especially when it’s in the midst of finishing up a Zo “lost his mind” conditioning sets, which are also something awesome.
